2024 MOLLY SWEENEY

Blind since infancy, Molly is persuaded by her husband and a surgeon to undergo an operation to try to restore her sight. “What has she got to lose?” the men ask.  This powerful drama by one of Ireland’s greatest playwrights tells Molly’s story through monologues from the perspective of three characters: Molly, her husband Frank, and her surgeon Mr. Rice.

Molly: Maggie Wininger

Frank: C J Langdon

GREAT REVIEWS

“Molly Sweeney” tugs at the heart and the mind simultaneously, as it questions what is real and what is artifice in our human definition of sight. It’s beautifully realized in Albion Theatre’s first-rate presentation.’
MARK BRETZ, LADUE NEWS

RICHARD GREEN, TALKIN’ BROADWAY

“Molly Sweeney is a fascinating play, in structure, story, characters and philosophical concepts. It’s one of those plays than can leave viewers asking “what would I do?” It’s well worth a look, and a whole lot of thought.”
